My Red.

I dedicate this blog to the best little girl that ever came into my life. I just hope that someday I see her spirit running through the mist of the Shoal Creek dog park. I would love to see that smile just one more time. Baby girl, I love you. And Papa and Jake and Gus do to.

Most dogs are better than most people if you ask me.

"[You] can learn a lot from a dog: obedience, loyalty, and the importance of turning around three times before lying down." Robert Benchley

My dog, Harriet, if pretty fucking special herself. Perhaps you can meet her some time. Here are some life lessons I have learned from her recently:

Things I learned about life from my dog

+ If someone rubs you the wrong way, shake it off
+ It's okay to put your head on your own shoulder
+ Keep cocking your head to see the world anew
+ Pose when there's no camera to be found
+ Be shameless
+ Be little, regardless of how big you get
+ Lay down when you feel like it
+ Get under warm laundry as often as possible

Glad you have a new puppy in your life. Mmmm - puppy smell...

And rules from a puppy:

If you can pick it up, then run like hell with it.

If you can get your teeth around it, bite like hell.

If you can get your teeth around it,
eat it.

If it moves, bark at it. O.K. silly. Thanks David. Those lessons are invaluable.
